LESSONS & GUIDED TRIPS 

Here at Flyfreak Adventures our goal is to share with you, the beauty, fun, and adventure of fly fishing. We specialize in guiding on wild trout waters for stream born trout. Our trips will give you the opportunity and choice to fish for everything from 10” Native Brook trout to 20” wild brown trout. Wild trout can be temperamental, but we will do our best to bring these beautiful wild trout to the net. We offer full, half day , and specialty trips.

LESSONS

At Flyfreak Adventures we have a passion for teaching and passing on our extensive knowldege of fly fishing, entomology, and fisheries. 

We offer two different lessons and can customize a lesson by request.

 

Introduction to Fly Casting: $50.00 (1 or 2 people)

In our intro to Fly Casting course, we will introduce the basics of fly casting, knot tying, and the proper instruction on how to set up and use your equipment to the fullest potential. Course length: 1 Hour

 

Introduction to Trout Fishing: $160.00 (1 or 2 people)

In our Into to Trout Fishing course, we will introduce the fundamentals of trout fishing on the fly. This will include a basic intro to river bug life, proper fly selection, introduction to different water types, and some of our secrets on how to find good wild trout water. 

GUIDE - Full Day Trips

Full day- Small stream Adventure:

This full day trip will be filled with small streams and the chance to catch all three species of trout. You will have the opportunity to fish for native brook trout and brown trout in a classic freestone stream. Drift nymphs through fast pocket water for feisty wild rainbows, and then end the day by fishing streamers and dry flies in slow moving, spring fed creeks in hopes to find that trophy Native Brook Trout that breaks the 12” mark. This trip will be perfect for both experienced small stream anglers, and those who are looking for something that is beautiful and new. This trip will take you into some of the most breathtaking places in the North Eastern Kingdom of Vermont.

 

Full Day- Watershed Exploration

This full day trip will take you to one of my favorite river systems in Vermont. This day will include everything from headwater streams to big river water where you will throw meaty streamers to 20” wild browns all within one beautiful river system. This river system will give you the opportunity to fish for all three species of trout, and all of the fish are wild and beautiful. This river system is known for its large wild brown, but it also provides good fishing for small but aggressive wild rainbows, and native brook trout in its headwaters. This trip is perfect for the angler who is looking for a trophy brown but also enjoys small streams, or someone who wants to learn about targeting big wild trout.

 

Full day- Trophy day

This full day trip will take you into the heart of trophy trout water. This trip will include covering a lot of water and will require the physical ability to cover up to a mile or more of river in a day. During this trip I will teach you what it takes to catch a trophy trout. I will share special techniques I use, what type of water to fish, what flies work best, and other secrets of the river. This trip is not a numbers trip, unless we are talking about the measuring tape. This trip is about finding a trophy wild brown. You will also have the opportunity to catch wild rainbows while on this trip. During your adventure you will be fishing in one of the most beautiful sections of river I know.

*All of our full day trips will include a wonderful river side lunch, and river side snacks. Non-Alcoholic beverages will be provided as well.

 

 

GUIDE - Half Day Trips

Half Day- Small stream Adventure

This half day trip will introduce you to the beauty of small stream fishing. You will have the opportunity to fish for Native Brook Trout and Wild Brown Trout on free stone streams, and slow moving beaver creeks. You will also have the option of targeting feisty wild rainbows if you would like. This trip will bring you to beautiful location, and will show you the true wonder of wild trout streams. This trip can be either a morning or afternoon trip.

 

Half Day-Trophy Adventure

This half day trip will introduce you to the excitement of chasing trophy wild trout. We will target large brown trout, but you will also have the chance to hook into wild rainbows as well. This is a great trip for anyone who wants to learn what it takes to catch a trophy wild brown trout. This trip can be either a morning or afternoon trip.
